One of the major search engines here in Russia are looking to recruit a Western search executive

Yandex has really been leading the field for innovation over here but with this level of growth in the Runet currently there is room for the other players to catch up. Only Yandex has implemented their own PPC system, others currently carry the stream from Begun.ru. We are still waiting for the first major contextual adverting system for ordinary webmasters.

The market is booming here though. It still has the same excitement and opportunities that I felt working in London in those early .com days. Profits and turnover have doubled for both Rambler and Yandex this year and that trend is set to continue. With only 17% of the population online at the moment there is plenty of room to expand, broadband roll-out/rising economy/access to credit cards increasing dramatically – the indicators are good.

This job is a chance to lead one of the main players in the Russian Internet – I look forward to seeing who they take on.
