Heh yes Anna did the same thing on our way back from Moscow last week, trying to avoid a pothole. Scared the hell out of us as we came to a stop right in the middle of the road, complete snow storm, pitch black and zero visibility. Luckily all the trucks stopped in time!

We saw an accident on the way up as well, they lost it and went spinning off into the snow drifts - all ok though, and a bit surprised that an English guy was running over to help them. Russians are remarkably calm about this kind of thing, especially considering none of them wear seat belts.

We have a large frozen-over car park here, where everyone practices controlling skids. I've booked Anna in for a few lessons! :)

Ouch!

I'd laugh, but I've been in a similar situation myself on the Isle of Man a couple of years ago, driving my sisters car. Luckily we did a 180 degree spin but just missed the other cars. :)
