rustysearch The Search Engine Relevancy Challenge

RustyBrick, a.k.a. Barry Schwartz has created a search engine with a difference. It asks you to rate the results you get given.

Your vote will help him build up a picture of which results people feel should fit each search query. Once this sample has become large enough we can begin to see how the major search engines compare. Hopefully this will start to answer the question of which search engine offers the most accurate or useful results at the moment. There has been a lot of talk recently about Yahoo! and MSN catching up with Google on this issue, even of Google letting this side slip in recent years.

Rusty has promised that all the data will be released into the public domain so if you have some time visit the search engine and give it a go. It’s an interesting experiment which should produce some good statistics.
