With Web 2.0. underway at a cost of nearly $3000 per ticket, I wouldn't be the first to wonder how the hands-on web designers and developers are participating. As Nick of Threadwatch wrote, "After seeing that price tag, i hope [...] that people really interested in the web2.0 movement do take it back from the greedy hands of corporate whores".
So with Nick's rant still ringing in my ears it was a good to find that Andy Budd, a friend of mine from Brighton, has arranged Europe's first grassroots conference there at a fraction of the price.
The line up of speakers will include Simon Willison from the Yahoo! Flickr team, Cory Doctorow of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Tom Hume, one of the UK's leading mobile experts.
The conference will be held in the trendy sea-side town of Brighton, UK on the Friday 11th Nov 2005 at a cost of £45 (ex. VAT) per ticket. There are only 100 seats available so expect this conference to sell out soon.

Update: Sold out in 30 mins. Well done to Andy and the team. For all those who couldn’t make it, they will be podcasting the event. I’ll post the details once I have them.
