The guys over at RedFly have kindly released a new Firefox plugin to help with international SEO. You can use the Google Global plugin to view PPC and organic results from any set country, region or city around the world.
I’ve just added a new search for Russian results, choosing .ru as the Google extension. The plugin allows you to save your favourite regional or city searches, for example, you can set up a new search for Moscow using the regional code of RU-MOW or city code of 1011969. RedFly have provided a tool for Google Regional Codes and Google City Codes.

A tool like this would be very useful for Yandex, the leading search engine in Russia, as they have been working hard make their SERPs region-specific. E-commerce is popular in Moscow and St. Petersburg so it makes sense to concentrate your SEO and PPC work for the audience there.

Hey Nick,
Thanks a very kind offer, I just might be taking yu up on that!
Shame about Pubcon but it’s understandable. Congrats on the baby BTW!
@Dave
I hope so too! Anna and I are hoping that we can bring the baby to Las Vegas for the end of year PubCon. She’s not too happy with me going on my own. I tried to explain it’s business but unfortunately she’s seen the conference first hand ;-)
Would be great to add Yandex. I’ll see what progress they have made on the API and update you. We’d be happy to do the Russian translation for you.
Wow, thanks so much Nick for the mention. Thanks for explaining how to localize a custom search for Russia too.
I’ll add Yandex to the roadmap for future releases. I assume it will function the same as Google and not as much of a pain as Y!/Bing.
It’s been too long, hopefully we’ll meet up again this year some time.
